At that point, you have to remediate the problems and call them for a reinspection.You can do a LOT of work that will not require an inspection by the city.

If it's a one-bedroom you may have fire hazard remedies and code violations you could cite, but if it's a two-bedroom and there is room, is it a big deal if the tenants are good tenants who pay on time?

She moved, because the damage was just to daunting for her to remedy, it took me a good two months to deal with the full renovation kitchen and bathroom, and of course several attempts at refinishing the floors and getting the cat urine and roach feces smell out.Be safe, be healthy, be clean!

If it does need to be removed, it should be done by a remediation company, but afaik, it’s not exceptionally expensive in most cases.
