I'm going to give another vote for gas.  

You could have a 120-year-old property that owner pays Gas electric and water, and the property is constantly needing major repairs.

It works well if you have a good generator and can tolerate the annoyance factor of the noise, the lugging of the generator, and the buying of the gas.
