This gentleman is cantankerous, to say the least, and he comes with 2 cantankerous sisters that love to terrorize me.

My sister is the broker I put on paper and she communicated with the Borrower, but she hasn't really been active in the last few years...

The sisters all trust eachother, so this allows for greater flexibility in doing something unique.

I was only in Ohio for 2.5 days, and in the morning of the second day I found out that my wife's oldest sister passed away.

My parents bought a property for my sister,, the cost of the house, lot rent, taxes, she never paid,, but an accounting was done where those amounts were kept track of and were deducted from her inheritance, they had other properties also but this was one way they could provide for her, have control of that asset for taxes, and still designate it for her after they died. so you could set up something similar maybe if your in-laws knew the benefits of this estate planning. 

One of the co-applicants has listed as a co-occupant a person, relationship: sister.

I used to work for Big Brothers Big Sisters in SF and then another social service agency here in Ukiah.

My sister lived in one of my units for a while and she brought the idea to me.
