As I go through this journey I have also decided to educate myself in real estate investment so that I can be best prepared for July 2020, this is the point when I will be debt-free and will be shifting all my energy to actively investing in real estate utilizing the BRRR method.To that end, I have made it a goal to analyze 2 properties per day so I can become familiar with my area and become comfortable analyzing properties...and that is where my issue is.

The cost is prohibitive to make them fully compliant by adding ceiling height, windows, doors, electrical upgrades, plumbing upgrades, etc, but the city is also aware that it can't lose all of these truly affordable housing units.

Getting an MBA would not help me one bit, so I'd say that's probably a waste of time, money and energy. 

You're asking someone to spend a lot of time and energy to share what they've spent years - maybe decades - learning and developing.

They are one part of the story and does keeping the investment fit into the other dimensions of your life, meaning do you want to be a landlord and do you have time, energy and skills. 

I'm assuming it got that way because the electricity was turned off?

Exterior work involved repairing the roof, painting, replacing rotten wood, and installing new light fixtures.Multiple contractors were engaged for the project, with licensed professionals handling electrical, plumbing, and HVAC upgrades.I have compared the comps in this area on Zillow and it’s in the range of 115k to 130k. all else checks out, except that I do not have boots on the ground to verify in-person.  

Put your time and energy in somehwere else for more income.
