If you go with bamboo, or any wood, put little pads on the bottoms of chair and table legs, and think about a no-shoes policy.

Maybe a scarecrow sitting in a chair with grumblings of an old man playing as well?

Don't forget rugs, nightstands, beds, chairs, tables, etc.... 

My STRs have everything needed for living in the house, from iron and ironing board to crock pot to beach towels, beach chairs and coolers.

I lightly stage, with a love seat, nice rug, tables, side tables, lamps, small kitchen table with 3 chairs,  inflatable beds (there's been some comedy when people tried to sit on them!)
