I suppose that's more an issue with my own self discipline, but still, a simple app would def help.  

Becoming financially independent is about discipline and strategy.

If anything it will keep your more disciplined and conservative. 

You will need money to invest, its never too late to change your spending habits, just takes a lot of discipline.

not the other way around.. they risk discipline if they are not representing the seller..

After you find your interest, go into a forum, ask for book recommendations on that specific discipline and go no further.

The ability to review market data, comparable data, historical subject data, and model what ifs is also valuable to investors.My thought would be to see how either of these two disciplines relate to your experience, and which might be something you could develop.Good luck!
