If it’s doorknob sized you can get a wall protector circle that’s bigger than the hole and place it over the hole or you can fix it and then install the protection, your call.

If you do some of the work yourself, for example, painting, demolishing the old kitchen cabinets yourself, install flooring, you'll save money.

I am also skilled in painting, woodworking, restoring, installing fixtures, ect, so I'd be doing a lot of sweat equity myself.

They usually are worth 15k more on an appraisal but cost 25k to 40k to install a new one. 

The flooring is ready to be replaced and I have considered having LVP installed but wonder should it be glued or free floating or should LVP be avoided altogether in this instance?  

We installed LVP throughout the unit, added in unit washer/dryer for each units, completely redid the kitchen, and minor cleanups to the bathroom.
