As your equity grows, you start losing money. 

I'm keeping this property for the appreciation (in a high demand area with great schools) and low interest rate for now.  

Re-read your contracts, document your correspondence (and attempts) with your builder and demand documentation to match up any payments/draws with what's actually been competed on your build.

And the city is growing very fast, so you should see a lot of appreciation as well.

Depending on the neighborhood, there simply might not be a lot of demand but I would not get discouraged.

It is growing in popularity because of proximity to Charlotte (about 45 min drive) and Lake Norman but still has a small town feel.
