After working my tail off as Pre-med for 3 years, I discovered I wanted to do REI and the last year was DREADFUL because I couldn't focus on anything but tests for which I have no use of in order to graduate and FINALLY start really learning real estate.

I think if you are truly interested in real estate and investing then it will be much better for you in the long run to spend that time and money on real estate right now rather than med school.

Of course, when your caller sobers up or comes down off the heavy meds(or gets back on her meds) you can re-contact her and use your "that was then, this is now" approach and tell her that she wasn't feeling well the last time you heard from her.
