Even though Colorado is not humid, the level of mold that was in the drywall (what was left of it after some of it just sorta fell apart) and the insulation was nothing compared to what we discovered when we pulled up the carpet on the first floor.

I just replaced furnace in one+ brand new gas line and insulation and a couple new windows. 1st duplex done 3 more to go. lol In addition to that Im going to next week or 2 after start working up some empty lots I bought to do an apple, pear orchard.

from msot likely to least likely - a) exterior wood and metal, b) interior wood, c) kitcehn and bathroom walls and ceilings, d) other walls and ceilings.Asbestos is more common in buildings built in the middle 1960s to the middle 1980s, than in older ones, except for the pipe & tank insulation.

Below grade is cheaper because you can pour cement walls as opposed to building 2 x 4's with insulation siding sheathing etc. second, below grade usually has a higher risk of water penetration thus making it a less desirable space.
