Your model is actually quite similar to my last employer who owned and managed hotels.

Today, I want to take this opportunity to ​clarify some things and share what is going to change.Under the current compensation model, a seller typically pays a commission of 5% or 6% to their listing agent.

For a dealer or merchant, there's a monetary damage model available - lost profits. 

However, many firms cannot do this as they are in a model that emphasizes tax returns as their primary revenue line item, vs tax strategy.  

I'll assume the worst case scenario in that you have a more expensive refrigerator and want to either repair it or replace with a similar brand/model.

All Appraisers follow this business model.

They are not making the ROI or even breaking even from what the "model home" salesman told them.

Very interesting, but it  turns my stomach at it's intrusiveness to one's business model.

Chasing cash flow in these neighborhoods is rarely a viable business model as I've learned.
