I'm just beginning but am considering a bigger commitment in the next five years or so by accessing some or even all retirement funds to buy a building (I'm sure people have thoughts on whether or not that is a good idea!).

For most people, they would be better off investing in a syndication or even a REIT. 

Call me fiercely independent but I don’t want other people arbitrarily telling me what I can and can’t do with my hard earned property.

And partner with people you trust & have done it here in Kyle before - by far the most important tip I can give.

Why do I need to tell people where to go and eat when they have Google and Yelp?

People can watch/listen to podcasts, but the only way to get into RE is making that leap.Just shot you a message!

Four months of arguing with different people and I finally got my $450 back.  

I know people that have had great BRRRR success in Detroit and Memphis, including myself.

They may not be able to use financing contingencies and may have to show proof of funds equal to the acquisition price but the money that hits the sellers bank account is the same whether its "cash" or a financed transaction.
