The idea of interest is not really coming into play here since interest is paid with principal as a function of amortization.

good thing is your monthly check from the gov't is always on time, the bad part is when I had a section8 tenants they gov't came by with a check list on the whole house.. making sure all the windows and doors where up to code, all the plumbing was functioning, all the outlets and electrical was up to code.
