I am interested in purchasing a house at a tax defaulted property auction and had a few questions.  1)  In California the previous owner has up to a year to protest the auction.  

This property was purchased at a auction at the courthouse steps.

It didn’t even reach the minimum needs at auction a few months ago.

I'm actively searching for auctions and have been looking for more ways to find these sales before they hit Zillow or Realtor.

Have been bidding on online  auctions, haven't won anything yet, but it's only a matter of time.

Why would someone be putting money into a house that is being auctioned off by the lender?

If your buying REO off the MLS there should not be any problems per se, although many REO are simultaneously listed on auction sites like auction.com or xome.com. and is not without hassles. 

You're describing a short sale.The homes you're looking at are going to be auctioned.

I ordered a report from the Riverside County Assessors office, but the report comes in the mail and I am not sure I will receive it before the end of the auction.
