Your agent is trying to sugar coat a bad deal to make the sale..Yes depreciation and tax benefits are a part of the total equation, but they are the icing on the cake.....not the cake itself.

I'm sure some other people can chime in about the loan aspect of it, but in general, your decision to buy a property or not should be based on what the cash-flow, appreciation, and amortization of the property are. and the tax benefits are just an icing on the cake.
