Los Angeles City has rent control, or Rent Stabilization Ordinances, that may make it very costly for a property owner to remove a tenant, even month-to-month and even temporarily, for renovations.

I’ve read a lot and just wanted to know how anyone got started in the Los Angeles, CA or California in general for their first rental property?

When people say that it's impossible to make a good deal in Montreal because it's too expensive, it's like saying that no good deals can be found in NYC, Los Angeles, etc...
