In each bathroom there is what appears to be an older clawfoot tub that has been "built-in" with painted plywood or cement board. 

I did have to repaint some of the basement floor since they bought their own dryer and drug it along the stairs and floor.

A couple of day laborers, a few posts, and a couple bags of cement and you can have it up in a few hours. 

I have seen a couple that had walk-up stairs that go to the outside - that requires lots of remodeling IMO.

In Michigan, bungalows typically have the living room in front, kitchen in back and stairs leading up/down between them.

I just went through this process and my firewall was approved by they city, but only after I replaced all screws with cement coated fire-rated nails. 

Although there was clearly a small crack at the exterior wall where the stucco meets the cement at the ground.Since rains like this are so rare (like, once every 10 years), is there some sort of caulking I could apply to the crack to seal it?
