Reason I ask is there are more 2-4 unit investment rentals in these states that have a better purchase to cash flow ratio versus NY.Each county is diferent buy NY has some crazy high taxes along with attorney state and higher fee's.

I think comparing to the two-- syndications vs index funds-- is too difficult because of the nature of the specific RE under the syndication versus the broad economy(global and domestic) the index funds capture.
