Hello everyone,I'm a self-employed piano technician (previously musician, theatre production manager, and sound designer/composer) who waited until pretty late to get serious about what my finances are going to look like as I get older.

I have 7-10 on staff on various projects...split between India, US, Russia, China...and we have another company using a financial analyst in India building financial models for a new business...and a tourism specialist in Italy doing research...architectural design assistant in Serbia...voice over actress in California...We use UpWork...used to be ODesk.

I am a fulltime traveling musician and I want to be financially free to come off the road and spend more time with my wife and dogs.

We've used batts in that way to deaden sound from bathrooms and laundry rooms adjacent to living areas with good effect... even R13 would make a difference.Lowes sells sound insulating sheetrock that would help as well.Sound can also travel through the walls, so having insulated wall cavities would make a difference.On the very expensive end of things, consider using foam insulation (icynene, sp)... it'd cost a fortune, but that'd be as good as you're gonna get for sound dampening effect (It'd also make the space such that you could heat it with a birthday candle and cool it with an ice cube, but that's another story entirely.)A thought for further research would be to look this topic up on websites geared for musicians.

I am more of a web and software developer musician type.

I'm located in the Riverside area of southern California and have traveled extensively over the area for the past 20 years or so as a service technician in hospitals and musician so I know the area pretty well.

If you read music, writing a song in B flat and trying to play in C minor presents some problems for some musicians, having to transpose, no one wants to transpose meanings while trying to consider a deal.Go to the book stores, and please stay away from guru books for now, LOL.

Newbie from San Fernando Valley,Cali.Hi, I was/am a musician but the Arts are just not paying all that well at the moment (for most)...so..I had to make some choices awhile back..I have a girl I love who has stuck by me through enough tough times...and we both deserve better..so for the past cpl yrs I've been learning the REI theories/practices so to speak(very interesting cpl yrs to be learing REI)..and now..it's time to get practical..

If you find a good company share the name, i have some musician friends in Austin that havent a clue about real estate/protesting their property taxes and it would be nice to give them a good company that will fight their taxes for them so they can spend thier time rockin out!

I think they should put Bubbles in a little black suit; maybe put some gum in his mouth so they can voice over a eulogy.
