I'm just trying to decide if the home is worth fixing and renting or do I just cut my losses and tear it down and use the property for other purposes.

I moved from Chicago to Nashville, and decided to rent out my house in Chicago.

Users may decide it's too much trouble and sleep directly on the couch leading to stains. 

I have not yet decided.

Originally I was going to buy back home in Tampa, Florida but now that we moved abroad and don't see ourselves going back to the US any time soon we have kind of decided to shift focus into the Spanish real estate market.

This kind of govt nosiness and overreach is why I initially decided against the financial planning industry before starting in credit. you can thank 2008 and all the fraud that went on for that.
