When you get the 2 pm call that the kitchen sink drain is leaking and you are filling a cavity in someone's molar, you can't exactly get up and leave to take care of the sink. 

@Nolan Connor For a few hundred dollars you could've had the drain line inspected.

The new unit did the same until we unplugged the drain line. of course the AC technician did not want to put our old one back in and refund our money

Typically you can disconnect and drain lines somewhere near main, then hook up an air pump to the lines and pump air into the lines.

The Condensation drain line was plugged up and managed to leak through the ceiling onto the second floor on the home. 

Things will inevitably break, jam, clog, drain, build up, wear down, etc. over the course of a year.

Cement down the drains, yup.

I was just suggesting to David that he chill out about the term "HELOC", when (given his massive savings) there's ample alternatives for him that will accomplish the same end (and most likely - cheaper)...And again I ask, what sane person would drain whatever liquid money they have currently and then dump everything going forward into the mortgage?  

My housekeeper drains my hot tub after each guest and replenishes it with water and chemical that they provide.

They have been a money drain.
