First obviously enough coverage if there is a catastrophic loss like a fire for example.

I have an investor with cash on hand, all this crash talk is getting me excited for 2018…it has been 10 years since the catastrophe of 08, I doubt it will be as Earth shattering as 08 but some leverage would help a brotha out.

I think of insurance as protecting from catastrophic loss - go with the higher deductible.

@Jay Hinrichs problem with a gun is it could be taken and used against her with catastrophic results.

I will assume you have insurance against loss but the quality of the ins company can make a HUGE difference, and god forbid you need to be made whole from a catastrophe you will wish you had paid a little more for a top rated firm.

I am not large enough (16 SFRs) to self insure because I need some degree of coverage for catastrophic events.
