I was confused by the narrative which said something like "just a few steps from the white sandy beach and crystal blue waters of the Caribbean."

However, my grandparents being immigrants from the Caribbean moved out and purchased their first brownstone in Brooklyn. 

Based in Miami, Fl and currently flipping and holding properties in Florida and the Caribbean.

As for international investors that are buying overseas in the Caribbean, central america, and/or south america that has changed as well.

I watched some late night ad on TV that said I could buy houses and vacation in the Caribbean after  just one deal (or something like that) :-).
