As a mortgage broker I can tell you this is underwriter discretion.

Check the Facebook group "Quad Cities Real Estate Investors" I can do some more research and interview some if you'd like a broker that plays in the space all day.  

The only thing that comes to mind may be insurance-related, so I'd recommend speaking to your insurance broker to see if the cost may be different due to fire damage could damage more units at a time.

I agree with most people that regulations are hard to navigate but I felt comfortable doing this in CO as I am a broker and know the regulations here like the back of my hand lol

@Bernard Chouinard I doubt you can get a referral fee from a broker as a non licensed individual, but hey, I'm not a lawyer, and I am not in your state haha.

It seems like it would be better to form relationships with brokers, agents, property managers or other people that would have input into many owners. 

Using your tech background to build systems and processes around your business is the key to scale.When I was getting started I wanted to do it all (wholesaling, flipping, brokering, contracting) and was unsuccessful across the board.
