Also, keep in mind if it causes an undue burden on you or is too costly you can deny them. for example, if your insurance company says that dog breed is on the ban list then you need to find out how much it will cost to insure them. if the rates go up because of the dog then you can deny them based on the undue burden.

Looking at this mathematically, if you assume a 50% non-renewal rate (industry standard) and use the low end of the range of $5,000 per non-renewal, there is a loss of $50,000 per year on a 20 unit property.

But don't let them know it.It amazes me how many of our members at MassRealEstate dot net have an Asset worth $300-500k Rent it for .5-1% of value and hardly pay attention to it, yet chase a tenth of a percent in CD rates;-)
