If it's merely stopped up it isn't that much to have it cleaned out ($250-$500) depending on the situation....I would recommend having a camera inspection done at the same time of the snake job.

Some older established high end communities have boilers for example, ultimatley the transition is to to forced air however in some cases you may want tor retain the boiler system as it is a "lifestyle choice" in that area (this is merely one example).

Up here - where winter tyres are just coming off - the mere mention of finished concrete floors makes people wince ... unless they are over a conditioned space (such as above grade stories in a commercial building) or a well insulated slab with {hydronic} radiant heat.
