They hired relatively inexperienced finance people to handle what they did NOT understand was the most important part of their business.  

If you just hire the cheapest or first PMC you speak with and it turns into a bad experience, please don’t assume ALL PMC’s are bad and start trashing PMC’s in general.

Example: claiming tax benefits from the STR loophole or from the Real Estate Professional Status (REPS) - which, by the way, are two completely separate things.
