As an investor, the alternative is to buy somewhere else that's much more affordable and has a higher likelihood of appreciation....I like the rust belt/midwest.In the meantime, I'll continue to shake my head at folks that pay $225,000 for homes in my neighborhood (Ruby Hill), replace all the cabinets, put in granite countertops, tile the heck out of the bathrooms and try to flip them for $350,000 - $375,000.

Hi,I decided to get more cabinet space in my kitchen, so I am inserting a cabinet on the place of the trash compactor, I cut out the lenolium to level it and I need to pull up the countertop.

They asked if they could change the cabinets a couple of years ago, and then also put in granite countertops, new appliances, laminate flooring, tiled bath, etc.
