If they're not hiring for assistants, ask about internship.

Ideally, you can start back to school in Accounting and pickup an Internship in Accounting along the way.I'd say Go for it - you can deliver Pizzas or other part time jobs to make ends meet. 

I definitely recommend getting advice or even setting up an internship with a contractor.

They need to go do summer internships somewhere else, and other law students want to come to their law school to do their summer internship. 

Plus, you want to be able to get rid of someone if it's not working out.Also, they are probably going to want to go to an internship in a different city or country over the summer. 

If it's s decent sized college/university, they will have summer internships who will pay a premium for a short-term summer rental - that's cheaper than a hotel.

Even in the summer, there will be grad students who come for summer internships, who have a hard time finding short-term housing, and will pay a premium for it.  

Oh, and I forgot to mention that I discovered there is a need for summer housing by students who come for internships or summer programs.  

They will often have summer internships somewhere far away, but they won't want to lose their housing.
