I find the Old school wisdom and straight talk approach he dishes out much to my liking and a refreshing variation on the hucksters appearing every few years always trying to sell you the latest snake oil.

Replace the sink with a double sink and explain to them the old fashion method of hand washing dishes .Tell them as is , plain and simple

I started out at the humble beginnings of being a dish washer and have worked my way up to the top as an Executive Chef. 

If you have a 5 BR, you're probably looking at at least 12 people, 6 beds, 12 sheet sets, 24+ towel sets, 12 dish sets, etc.  

Another alternative is to use Dawn dish detergent.

Dish washer/ washing machine/ big appliances create heat and eat electricity even more if they are old. 

And even the my Irish grandmother's voice in my head was saying the same thing.But in the two hours that the plumber was fixing the pipes, I followed up on and closed a deal that will make around $15K at signing and another $300 per month for 10 years.Hmmm...If I had listened to my father or my Irish grandmother whispering in my head, I'd have saved $600 but I'd have back pain for days and I might have missed out on a deal that will be worth around $50K total.I think I made the right call and it sounds like you'll do the same and let the experts take care of it.Finally, it took me a while to give in but I applied this to other parts of life as well.I hired a cleaning lady / cook / dynamo that comes to my house 2-3 times per week to clean my house and drop off healthy, pre-made tasty meals for $600 per week (plus the cost of food which is actually less than what I was paying before; honest to God, she's a miracle that I can't believe somebody let go.)Hey... there's that $600 again!

Does that price include linens, paper products, dish and dishwasher detergent, etc?

If you just use occupants as the deciding factor, they may come back and say that 2 people don't equate to 2x the usage of water because they do their dishes together, laundry together, and sometimes may shower together. 

Problem is the 3/4 in hardwood was installed way after the dish washer .
