Condos won't appreciate nearly as much as an SFR if I were you I'd get rid of the condo, there are other appreciation markets and properties that will offer better returns, keeping it would be for sentimental reasons only in my opinion.

my mother-in-law passed and she had a house in questa that we had to do something with; her dad built this thing and you can imagine the sentimental value on that. 

Is that when some says that they have a property that is family owned/ a family home or they have some sort of sentimental investment in and they are renovating it to rent out I recommend they consider the renovations and products being used.
