I also have a Nest thermostat, Rachio sprinkler system and MyQ Garage door opener so everything in Southern California can be monitored and controlled from our diggs in Portland.Vacation rentals can be lucrative if you think it through.

Jacqueline, the Solo 401K has many things going for it that may make it a better option for some people depending upon their circumstances.It is designed for small business owners that do not have any W-2 employees.It has very high contribution limits allowing the account holder to quickly build a nest egg.You don't have to deal with a 3rd party custodian.You have checkbook control over the account.There is a Roth sub account component.Solo 401K is UBTI exempt, you also may borrow funds from the account.
