I do my research and know the landlord tenant laws very well in all states and localities where I've owned rentals, which is why I know tenants in MD can sue landlords for 3X amount in discrepancy and that a landlord can't just say a security deposit is forfeit but must provide timely notification of itemized actual damages, plus they have much stricter lead rules, required rental inspections/inspection fees, etc...

you were accurate with what i was going to do@Randy Fraziermine was. send letter 1 to credit bureausletter 2 to creditors (best buy. collection agency etc.)letter 3 back to credit bureaus..i would fle for discrepancy to initiate the process. there is no legal ramifications if they return proof that the tenant was late.basically we are asking for proof of documentation proving that we were late.after 30 days you will automatically recieve a copy of your credit report of the results. it will say deleted or verified.if it comes back deleted, we are done with the process. if it comes back verified there will be a third letter sent.
