My observations about (most) Texas real estate is that the upside opportunity for appreciation is very different than we see here in CA and it's much more a "buy and hold until you get old" play since the major topic of my investor friends with interests in Texas (except Austin) have lamented.

Home inspector when done to make sure its done right and to code.. ( which looking at videos none of it looks to be or very little ) at least in observations.. and the one' s I drove by that were vacant trashed and front doors kicked in those are obvious.. :)
