I’ve done a little more research during the weekend and I think the current trend is closed cell foam insulation with Hardie 4x10 sheets and 1x3 trim to cover the joints -like a board and batton pattern.

But he basically used a spray foam dispenser to areas which had largergaps and used a special sealant to seal it.

We used closed cell foam for the insulation and had a custom roof system fabricated out of aluminum trusses and coretin, in addition to having a porch on the south side of the container, all of which have mitigated any heat transfer.
