It's by a river, about a half mile or so walk, about a 1/4 mile from an outfitter that does boat/tube rentals. 

I suggest watching home renovision on you tube Jeff has a couple videos on installing laminate flooring which were very helpful.

OP, I also recommend watching at least 10 Y Tube videos on RE agents who made it through their 1st year. 

Aside from the usual mechanical evaluation for any property in older homes you need to pay particular attention to lead, asbestos, and electrical (aluminum/knob and tube). 

To do this, they remove the moisture from the freezer compartment and drain it down a tube.

Some will put in new appliances and paint the place up to look nice, but they covered up things like dry rot, old knob and tube wiring, and rusty galvanized pipes.

Hey all,A frustrating situation I (first time residential home buyer) am in;Our inspection came in on a 2 story 1500 sq foot 1920s house(as-is) in Roxborough with 2 major concerns:Basement - Joint rot that was addressed by adding vertical supporting beams towards the end of each joint (but they lack 'snowshowing' at the base and might be advisable to add additional for support)Electric - Knob/tube wiring and 0 grounded outlets through entire the houseThe issue is our inspection doesn't have an estimate, only a recommendation to get an additional specialist inspection for that to obtain an estimate.
