An MBA is not an investment unless you think there is something it can give you that the real world cannot.

And if so are the benefits worth the cost of the MBA?

I've had a lot of success (at least thus far) academically, so in 5-10 years I'd love to have the credentials that would entice a top 25 business school where I could pursue my MBA.

Another couple moved after 2 years to be closer to her job after graduating, Yep a barrister at Starbucks with an MBA.

The best finance professionals able to assess  risk, return, portfolio management, capital costs, etc. are usually credentialed with MBA, CFA, and have 10 + years successful experience in the commercial or investment lending arena.

I believe in education, got my MBA when I was younger and am better for it, but you need a SKILL when you are done, accounting, engineering, finance, hard science.  

I also invest in myself (such cash flowing an MBA in night school) and in my own career and business ventures.

I've listened to the podcasts with Dave Van Horn and Bob Malecki (and Note MBA with Chase & Robert) and thought it was a really exciting space.
