You can purchase in your name alone when you're married but if there is a divorce then it will vary by state and circumstance as far as what will happen.Another affidavit you may encounter in the future that is even more retarded is when the city won't let you pull your own permits on an investment property unless you sign a statement saying you are going to live in the property.
