I don't want to say too much on public forum but, MN is high income state, which makes for some of highest median incomes in US, which makes for some of the highest paying sec8 in country..... 

FL is also the toughest state in the country (based on my experience) for reliable contractors.If you don't need a ton of house, you could find a nice option for yourself and try to get a small rental.

Like Joseph mentioned the southern/middle part of the country is great because the price points are much easier and the laws are landlord friendly.

Manchester is the #3 area in the state for travel professionals and high up on cities in the country.

Owner demands are forcing PMCs to hire cheap VA's from foreign countries, but it's difficult to train these VA's about industry knowledge and American customs. 

I work with a couple hundred investors from CA and they prefer the middle/southern part of the country because the price points are much easier and the landlord laws are friendly.

The USA is still the best country in the world for investing (and freedom) and I really have been around.In my opinion, for what it's worth, leaving the USA to invest in Spain would be like leaving a great party to go to a wake!

Some areas of the country have a lot more foreclosures and hence more HUDs.
