I said it was a huge mistake, but everyone told me they were in an excellent location and the numbers would work. 

Well, I've been reluctant to admit the mistake I made with the investment of a "package" of  properties a couple of years ago.

@Eric Lind I think they made a mistake.

I believe you can replace your day job with real estate investing, but it takes a lot of capital up front, few mistake along the way and a whole lot of hands on work.  

Even if you met those requirements, it doesn't sound like you have any experience and you could put her in a worse position by making a mistake.
