Obviously this won't relate to me as I am getting out, but I can spread the knowledge to my fellow Marines who might be interested. 

As a Marine living in Holly Ridge, I can confirm that this area is sought after by Marines looking to live half way between base and Wilmington which makes for a strong rental market.

Let's say you retire from the Marine Corps, become a full-time student (Post 9/11 GI Bill), work seasonally in the Fall, but because your last two courses to graduate are not available until the next fall and you can't get hired and/or decide not to get the unemployment.

I am currently active duty Marine Corps(4 yrs).

@Franklin McGuire I spent four years in the Marines from 2008-2012 and was moving around so much for college that I didn't have the income or ability to purchase a home.
