I have to slow down and really analyze the cost vs. benefit before jumping in.My personal life is the same.

The only two things in life are death and change - so good for you for sitting home and doing nothing at all, just in case.

We should give them the benefit of the doubt considering somewhere along the family line we were all immigrants and these people may just want to have a better life for themselves and their families.With that said, there are a few things to consider:-What market are you in?

What is that data going to get you at this time in your life with the financial resources you have or don't have available?

Certainly sometimes simpler IS better, just depends what questions you want answered.

If you know this and just try to take a pause before reacting, the results in life and investing will be drastically different.One big thing I changed in my life was this: I used to love hammering someone in an email response, but it never led to anything other than more emails.

"yes Miss Agent referred me to you and highly recommended your lists over most local agencies" etc etcmost things in life are only as negotiable as you'll allow yourself to investigate. 

That way the investor should have few repairs or surprises in the first 5-10 years because you are owning the property for the best years of the building's life.
