So far I have experienced the many no's that will be commonplace in my attempt to serve those who genuinely desire to grow a business with fruitful, lasting success.I have resolved myself to accept that, even if I never receive a yes, even after 10,000 messages conveyed to prospective individuals, I will accept that I put in every effort, and let it not be said that I did nothing.

They seem a little slow (but I have contributed to some of that), their construction review is a little picky and rather conservative, but on the other hand I appreciate their thoroughness because it's another check on my contractor's scope; gave me more insight for more in-depth discussions with my GC which were fruitful; you have to ask your rep a lot of questions to make sure you understand expectations, especially on the rehab loan.

I don't know (recall) if they are in local ordinances but I do recall vaguely seeing some legal / ordinance type of material detailing when it can and cannot be done, regarding building in a way that directs water towards a neigbors property.I don't know Chicago that well, but as a homeowner I would try calling your local building and permit center and see if one of the local inspectors can direct you to the code section to read.I'd do that before anything else because knowledge of those ordinances will arm you / prepare you best to approach the other parties.With regards to the possibility of 'dealing' with the water, I'd be thinking about ways to do that, too - in the event that the above / negotiating an alternative solution is not fruitful.

The rents look like they might still be on the low end so maybe there is some more room there to juice the numbers.I would suggest double and triple-checking your property taxes.
