It sounds really f'ing complicated and really you're buying a business (active) that's real estate (passive) based. 1) Family owned mgmt which means the risk of creatively funneling money around, so keeping an extremely close eye on the books. 2) How do you 'assign depreciation', I didn't know depreciation is a currency but permissive commensurate to real property ownership > def check with tax advisor here 3) Who is determining the valuations/purchase price?

At this point, I'm sure the people coming in are looking at it as an easy way to inflate the currency 50-100% to erase some of the massive national debt, and pretend it isn't happening.

Personally, I think that at some point the debt is going to get so high that foreign investors are going to lose confidence in the dollar, are going to stop buying our currency, which will lead to a loss of confidence in our bond and equity markets, which will lead to a major economic downturn -- likely much worse than what we've seen in the past 75 years.When this happens, there will come some tough choices -- we good have to cut a lot of mandatory programs, like social security, medicare and welfare.

You can still have flat prices with tight inventory if people don't derive the same satisfaction and have other alternatives.Inflation is the erosion of purchasing power of a currency (mostly due to excess dollars in circulation like in Venezuela as the government keeps printing).
