You could also leave the black berry bushes around the perimeter as a natural fence and then spread wild flower seed and sod a small portion of the yard.

No one starts anything with experience, but some will clearly have advantages over others having equal RE knowledge.To be in RE, you need to have an extraverted personallity, if you are a wall flower, timid and fear meeting people, RE is not for you!

HOW TO KEEP THE CATS OUT OF THE FLOWER BED:   If you have cats in the neighborhood who have discovered your planting beds as a good place for their deposits, lay down chicken wire mesh on top of the soil and cover it lightly with mulch.

Many regular contributors have had to repeat themselves a hundred times just because people don't search topics first, as if their situation is different because it's a brick house or some other unique aspect.You better get thicker skin to be in RE, it's not like working in a flower shop. :)
