The past few weeks have been a proverbial roller coaster; financially, culturally, economically, and financially.

Although it did affect my "full immersion" into the culture I was within, it was really neat knowing that I could conduct business on the home-front from one of the most remote places on Earth.

I allowed fear to stop me from taking a chance on myself, to believe in my ability to battle diversity and overcome hardship. 

AS @Greg H. says sometimes you thank your lucky stars your offer wasn't accepted.I think an excellent strategy in the Permian basin is to continue to watch the market at this point or divert your attention to a more diverse (less petro dependent) area.

I came back completely impressed with rich cultural heritage, and at the same time came away very shocked at the condition of residential buildings and dirty streets (I found Rome & Florence pretty clean), but other parts of Italy, dog poops every where...ugh. 

Big diversity in types of properties. 

All in all, do what's right for you and your wife, but choosing Oahu has put me out of my comfort zone in the best way and made me experience adventures, friendships, and culture I never would have on the mainland. 

Being able to brand myself and build a team in the future, great training, culture, and ability to have control of growing my business is big for me.I would love any feedback from someone who has worked with any of these brokerages and/or does luxury homes.
