@Kevin McDonald  Perhaps you would do well to ponder why your attitude towards your customers (tenants) is so hostile (e.g. calling their belongs "crap", getting all worked up about their hanging things on the walls)?   

Hi EveryoneI am pondering the idea of replacing the carpet on the first floor in my personal residence  with either laminate, tile, or engineered hard would. 

question - have you known them for a while and known them to be go-getters and actually do stuff, or do you know this couple as people who vacillate and make excuses and ponder and think way too much about stuff?

Ponder on this, you need a lead test if you are to touch any paint near a window if the house is built pre-1978, and if it tests positive, you need to hire somebody who has EPA certificate, they have to get a full coveralls, painters hat, shoe covers, and respirators, then you need an abatement company to throw away those garbage bags even if its only a few chips of paint.

So instead of cutting them down I removed all the lower branches up to about 5' from the ground and then cut off the pointed top - as high as I could reach from my available ladder - probably about 15-16'The trees looked weird to me so after pondering for a while I started to trim them up with an electric hedge trimmer.
