It was a tough decision, especially since I had no experience managing commercial properties and knew no one in Ohio.Despite the uncertainties, my wife and I decided to make the leap to escape the hustle and bustle of the Bay Area.

A minority of 401k providers will let you transfer the loan to a new provider, but I have yet to experience that option with any 401k I have had. 

I backed up, regrouped and went smaller to gain more experience.

If you do want to move forward with this property, one recommendation I would get is to find a local contractor with experience that you trust and have him advice you on the scope of work that may need to be done as well as the cost it would take.
