As a summary, it looks like i can boil it down to the following:1. make sure the growers have proper credentials2. modify lease to insulate from problems and restrict the level of activities3. check with insurance to make sure they will cover the house in the event of a loss; consider additional insurance to cover growing operation and pass that cost on to the tenants4. obtain a higher security deposit to cover possible mold and water damage5.

@David KrulacWe routinely use triple glazed windows, mostly vinyl or fibreglass, but where historic conservation guidelines demand, we've used wooden framed windows.Quad glazed windows are comparatively new and offer more variation in configuration (evenly spaced, spaced in pairs), but unless they are in an insulated fibreglass frame, the benefits of the extra glazing will be marginal and definitely not cost effective.

If there is/was little insulation in the attic (the ceiling joists are exposed above the insulation), you would have cooler/warmer temperature along the bottom of the joists which could both cause moisture issues and may have affected how the smoke particulate stuck to the ceiling.If you take the pointed tip of a knife or {one blade} of a pair of scissors and {gently} press into the drywall along one of those lines, is the drywall hard or does the knife tip slid in fairly easily?

If you did an eifs system, this would add insulation the house and allow for reveals and different thickness to the wall to be added.
