I thought she was exaggerating, but when I flew down to check on the issue, I was floored! 

But let's say you are awesome and get tenants paying $3000/month on a $100k house where other similar properties are only getting $1000/month (total exaggeration but you get the point) Obviously I don't think assets- liabilities is a good way especially if you are financing everything.

(BTW, I would doubt you are really screwing up the system by over exaggerating your property data.
